The development and application of new and innovative polymeric materials in the footwear sector is increasing exponentially. However, not all available products have the same properties, nor the characteristics of the users and the conditions of use are the same, so, depending on the case, they will provide adequate performance or not.

Our colleague Sergio Puigcerver will present at Polymers in Footwear Virtual Summit 2021 (19-21 October - Online), how the application of biomechanics know-how is an essential tool for the optimal selection of polymeric materials as well as for the R&D of new solutions for footwear components. In Sergio's words, “an adequate application of biomechanical principles in the design of footwear contributes to meet the needs and requirements of users, to ensure the success of products in the market and, therefore, to increase the competitiveness of companies in this sector”.

At this event, among others, it will disseminate the research carried out in the #INNOVACAL project "Innovative methodology for the evaluation and design of footwear", whose funding has been requested from IVACE and #FEDER funds.
