NedCodo/IBV, making biomechanical assessment of the elbow easy and objective
NedCodo/IBV is a software application that has been developed by the Institute of Biomechanics (IBV) to assist professionals in the functional assessment of the elbow. Of particular note is its usefulness in the study of such complex pathologies as epicondylosis or lateral epicondylitis. It is a Class I medical device that has been specifically designed to return objective and non-manipulable results of elbow functionality in an agile and simple way.
The results are compared to databases to facilitate interpretation and the decision-making process in relation to therapeutic management and reintegration into the workplace.
Co-creation + Biomechanics: keys to the successful design of a knee orthosis
The orthopedics sector is increasingly demanding and competitive. Patients suffering from osteoarthritis need solutions that improve their personal autonomy and mitigate the effects of the disease without losing autonomy and life quality. EMO and IBV have designed and developed a new generation of knee orthoses that adapt to the anthropometry and biomechanics of the users, considering the context of use, usability and the needs and preferences of both users and professionals. In order to achieve such an advanced solution, a multidisciplinary team and various laboratory studies were necessary to define the user-centered design and the development process.
Kinemov/IBV. A tool that simplifies the analysis of human movements
There are currently many tools that make it possible to study the human body in motion. However, most of them require high technical training in order to be able to define and carry out any type of study. Kinemov/IBV is a solution that seeks to make the analysis of human movements easier for users who have no specific knowledge of biomechanical modeling. The application collects information through photogrammetry cameras, force platforms and surface electromyography. It also includes predefined models and integrated kinematic and dynamic calculations, which make it possible to study any manner of movement and generate configurable and exportable results reports, according to the needs of the user.
NedAMHplus. A simple protocol of comprehensive gait assessment for clinical application
A comprehensive analysis of human gait requires expensive instrumentation protocols and highly qualified staff, which limits the use of this biomechanical assessment technique. In view of this reality, Instituto de Biomecánica has developed the NedAMHplus/IBV application based on kinematic, dynamic and electromyographic measurements. NedAMHplus/IBV offers easy-to-interpret information for clinical decision making using a fast and simple protocol. The studies performed concluded that the results of NedAMHplus/IBV are reproducible and valid for gait assessment.
